Freedom Network Update: The South China People's Resistance has engaged the Visitor Third Corps along the Great Wall of China; there is heavy fighting in Caracas, Venezuela, over control of the local oil refineries; and a stalemate continues along the Gila River east of Yuma, Arizona, where the Resistance guerillas defend against the Visitor Army of the West. The Freedom Network honors Anna Horowitz for leading the Gray Panthers and sabotaging Skyfighters at a Visitor armory in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Resistance receives information that Sean Donovan is being trained in the Visitor Youth Corps at the Visitor Embassy. His tutor is Klaus, a master assassin stationed in Berlin during the original occupation and known as the Exterminator. Klaus teaches the art of Revoc which includes a move called Silent Strike. Using the move, Sean breaks another boy's nose and receives high praise from Klaus.

Posing as a delivery driver and bribing the gate guard with a mouse, Donovan sneaks into the Legation and rescues his son. But Diana sees him and orders Klaus to follow and kill Donovan. Klaus gives chase on a motorcycle, but Donovan gets away when a special device on his van releases an oil slick onto the road. However, Sean doesn't have much appreciation for being rescued and tells his father that Klaus will find him and kill him.

Back outside the Club Creole, Elizabeth sees Robin enter a movie theatre across the street. But as she rushes to find her mother, Elizabeth is stopped by the manager and a pair of ushers. Confused and cornered, she causes a scene when she uses her powers to shove the three men out of her way. Just as some Visitors are about to investigate, Kyle rushes her away. Kyle finally puts two and two together and figures out that Elizabeth is the Star Child.

Nathan Bates's special associate, Mr. Chiang, makes his first appearance. He has news of a girl exhibiting extraordinary powers at the Sixth Street Cinema. Surely it can't be the Star Child, because Nathan Bates thinks she's only eight years old and the girl at the theatre was probably around sixteen. But the girl reportedly left with Kyle Bates, so Nathan's interest is piqued. He orders Mr. Chiang to find Kyle and report back.

Meanwhile, Donovan takes his son to a safe house. Klaus has tracked them there and tells Sean to return to the Embassy. Klaus's artificial right hand has been replaced with an energy whip which he uses to fight Donovan. But Donovan gains the upper hand and pushes Klaus over a hillside before he flees. Later, as Donovan tries to hitch a ride on a busy highway, Klaus shows up intent to kill, but Donovan jumps onto a truck and escapes again.

Donovan returns to the Embassy one more time to get his son back. With a diversion from Ham, he sneaks in and finds Sean and Klaus together. Donovan and Klaus fight, and just as Klaus is about to use his whip to defeat Donovan, Mike ducks and Klaus's whip strikes an electric utility box, killing Klaus. Sean picks up a pistol and is about to shoot Donovan, but he can't. Instead, he runs out of the room to Diana's side. Donovan escapes the Embassy without Sean, but he vows to keep trying to save his son.

Robin finally finds her way to the Club Creole. Elizabeth is not there, but Julie prepares Robin with the information about her daughter's recent change. Eventually Elizabeth returns and is reunited with her mother.
